Chadron State
While I was accepted into Chadron State's Educational Leadership program in 2016, I deferred a year, as that was the same year that I started employment with Merit Academy. Then, following that school year, I checked with my principal, and he was more than supportive of my desires to earn my degree, and I greatly appreciate he and the school's willingness to allow me to do so. I stayed at Chadron for a little over a year (here are my transcripts), and during that time I completed the following courses (see links for course syllabi, other coursework, etc.):

I stayed at Chadron for a little over a year (here are my transcripts), and during that time I completed the following courses (see links for course syllabi, other coursework, etc.):
- EDAD 629 - Fundamentals of School Administration
- This course was an excellent, all around introductory course to public school administration. Among other things, I considered our own School Improvement Plan (or the lack thereof) and also analyzed opportunities for improvement. I also got to meet (here's my own intro video) a lot of other like-minded educators who desired to continue to grow and develop their leadership abilities (see my Class Anthology Assignment for more info).
- SPED 630 - Characteristics of Behavioral & Emotional Disabilities
- I learned some really useful skills in working with students and others who suffer from these types of disabilities. Here's a few projects I completed as part of this class: Class Slideshow Overview; Final Project
- EDCI 631 - Educational Research Design / Data Analysis
- During this course I learned how to prepare to research, collect data, and interpret it for a thesis research project. Began initial work on a case study into the 4-day school week with two local schools districts: American Leadership Academy (a local charter school) and the Tintic School District.
- EDCI 633 - Educational Philosophy
- In this course I learned the basis for the philosophical underpinnings of America's public school system. I reviewed my own personal educational philosophy, as well as completed a case study on the educational philosophy of another excellent teacher at my own school.
- EDCI 635 - Curriculum Development
- I learned all about how to effectively plan and create curriculum in this course, including a revamp of my own World Geography Class. That project (including scope & sequence, unit & lesson plans, etc.) can be found here: Final Curriculum Project.
